And... I'm... BACK IN THE GAME!

Thanks to a very special person on Absolute Write Forums ----> GP <---- I have set aside my old self who thinks he sucks...

Thank you GP!

Anyway, I'm having more fun writing now than I've ever had before. It's like I discovered writing all over again!

Basically I'm just posting this to let you know that my moping about how I suck and that I'm not motivated (like in my previous post) will not happen again!

Cya!

I have cold feet (literally and figuratively)

Literally: My feet are ALWAYS cold...

Figuratively?

Am I good enough to be an author one day? Is it even possible to become an English Young Adult novelist in South Africa?
Why am I not as motivated as I should be about writing? I WANT to be a writer really badly and I love to write... sometimes?

My English really isn't great... scoring 60% for English exams... that's not good enough to be a writer... is it?

Stories... storyline... average? Scenes... boring... dry... unexperienced... all of it... I suck

Shiny New Idea! (with photos)

So after watching the new Star Trek movie, I thought I'd like to give paranormal space adventure writing a try :D

So far the idea is about a group of teens riding dirt bikes and quads (three guys, two girls) in a desert type place just outside of town, when a space ship plummets to Earth a few hundred meters from their location.
A nerdy guy who likes to catch bugs and view their natural behavior also sees this- mainly because he's almost crushed by it, and nearly died because of the accident. He arrives first- obviously.

The space ship's door is busted so the teens decide to enter it. There's no way anyone could survive that crash anyway, right? Well that's what they think as the door closes behind them and they shoot into outer space and into a new adventure- not necessarily a good one, because they are now part of a syndicate space ship smuggling crew and they have no idea how to get back to Earth.

Here are the characters! (Created on sims 3 lol)

Fredrik Wetherby
He's the nerdy guy who likes to catch bugs and view their natural behaviors. He's also very afraid, but has quite the knowledge about space and other stuff... (which I have to figure out for my self even...)

Benjamin Ryan
The emo guy who smokes weed and doesn't really care about anything as long as he's having a good time. (he's high most of the time anyway)

Nate Writh
He's your typical asshole, the one who thinks he's the best and everyone else has to listen to what he says. (Tanya's boyfriend and quarterback).

Tanya Rease
The snobby bitch of the group who can't keep her mouth shut and can't leave her hair alone for one minute. Never mind checking her makeup every second of the day- will she ever survive space?! (Nate's girlfriend and captain of the cheer leading squad)

Katie Marsh
Katie is Tanya's friend, the new girl at school, but she isn't such a snobby bitch as her. She's kind and very friendly- she likes Jonathan (The main character)

Jonathan Kurr
(Main character) He's not that much a jerk, he's friendly to everyone and doesn't really like Nate that much, but they've been friends for years, so he has to stick with him (so he feels). He's brave and doesn't like to be pushed around.

The last (living) Alien on board the ship (still deciding if he lives or dies? Help me decide?)
I don't have any info about him yet, if he's good or bad.. I don't know... any ideas?

And that's it! That's my idea for a new WIP! What do you think? lol

LG KP500- My new (almost) best friend

So today my dad received a call stating that my cellphone had arrived at the store. You can imagine how excited I was when I got the news a few minutes later!

So I had the Sony Ericsson k810i, which is a great phone by the way- it lasted me two years, but it had had it's fair deal of handling/falling and sooner or later, almost every phone plainly... dies.

After two months of having to work with a phone which was not so keen on working itself, I finally persuaded my parents to let me get another contract on their name (yes I have two, one which they pay- which costs R50 a month (less than $10) and then the one I'm
paying for is R80 (around $10 a month).

I'm not really into the whole contract thing... don't have the money to pay for it, thus cheap contracts + great phone, happy Jaco :) I'm all about the phone ;)

Oh... I know this phone was released a year ago, but it's a new release in South Africa... for plain, suckish economical reasons...

New phone is: LG KP500 ! :D

Over all I think this phone is really really really great!

My favorite feature would be the document viewer (reading and stuff on the go)
(I heard somewhere that you can download a add-on that allows you to edit the word documents with your KP500 as well, so it would sort of be like Windows Mobile, but I'm not sure if this is fact or speculation.)

Internet speed is AMAZINGLY fast (for a phone)

screen is huge... graphics are great... 3mp camera is not too bad

All in all, I think job well done from LG, they have made my day :)
